Day 5 :
It's worth mentioning that I have recently started a new job - at a well known gym here in North County (and I love it!) With that being said part of my job is that I workout EVERY shift in addition to what I do on my own free time. Long story short - I am exhausted! I realized yesterday that I had absolutely no energy for one more workout let alone yoga class. I would be lucky if I was able to raise my feet to walk up the stairs to my place. So I skipped it, but you'll be excited to know I made up for it by taking TWO classes today!
So moving on.....
Day 6: Part I : The Movement Lab
If you've been following my blog or Instagram page for at least a month then you've probably heard me talk about The Movement Lab. Located in Solana Beach they are 'the new kids on the block' and by new kids I mean a little over a year old - they are a movement studio specializing in dance classes from modern ballet to cardio hip hop, burlesque to BUTI yoga! Ahh, BUTI Yoga - yes...
BUTI Yoga has come in to my life and turned it upside down - it has become my outlet, my voice, my meditation. Who knew being in a room with drums and beats reverberating off the walls and ceiling could lead one to meditate. Well it can.
The Movement Lab is truly something special - in a sea of yoga, cross fit, and mega gyms this place is offering something new and intense. The classes here are not for the faint of heart or the wandering gypsy (like myself), they are meant for those who have dance in their blood and music in their soul. Professionally trained dancer and owner, Susan White has created a center for expression, a space for members of her tribe and for those of us that have spent a life time of dancing or maybe wished we had a space to call your own.

Day 6: Part II : White Peacock Yoga
You know those places that you can just tell something special is inside, or rather if you walk inside something special is going to happen to you. White Peacock yoga studio is very much one of those places. This small unassuming studio tucked inside a shopping center, nestled between a 99 cent store, PHO and mega gym LA Fitness - is the kind of place that dreams are made of. In fact, there is a sign in the window stating just that, DREAM.
Owner, operator Audrey Sarquilla, is not only talented as a teacher but she is quite the entrepreneur and go-getter needed in this industry to stay a float. With over 20 years experience, she worked for years in other studios, created her own fully in depth teacher training program and can add the likes of Mr. Virgin himself - Richard Branson to her list of uber fabulous clients.
Audrey and her studio are every bit as unique, spiritual, practical, dreamy, loving and open as one can wish for. What I love about WPY is that it's simple and pure in it's offerings - it's just yoga, offered to you as a gift. Come in take what you need, leave the rest. I promise you though, you're going to be back for more.
