The HIGHS and lows of a gypsy lifestyle
One of my favorite sections to read (only section to be honest) in Oprah's magazine (OWN) is the "What I know for sure" column. If I see a new issue on the stand and that would be the #1 reason I pick it up and scan for. It's always short, insightful and soul-tickling. If we're honest with each other there is little that we all know for sure - we all play really well at being experts and granted there are probably a few things you know better than your neighbor, partner even friend. But what in your life are you certain of? What in your life can you say for sure is this or that? What do you even know FOR SURE about yourself?
One of the hardest questions I have yet to fully answer is, 'What do YOU want?' I've turned this question inside out, upside down, looked at it sober, pondered not so sober and even asked others how they would answer. For me I realize that what I want and what I know for sure are deeply rooted in the same pot - how can I know what I want when I'm not even sure about....well...anything. In my heart I know - but it's so terribly hard to say, to put into words, even fully acknowledge. So for the sake of this article I'm going to keep it brief and simply say that what I know for sure is that new places, beautiful music, airports, really good coffee, chai, a new pair of shoes, stamps in my passport, doing yoga, meeting up with friends, hanging with my mom, stargazing and writing bring me joy, make my heart flutter and excite me for the day to come.
What floats your boat? Maybe it's an exotic trip to a place far away. A new outfit or learning a new recipe? Skydiving or train hopping - share with us on our blog and let the EDY community know how you roll! You just might inspire someone else.
Peace + Love,
