"I want to help you GROW your brand and MONETIZE your passion"

Are you ready to start creating the ROCKSTAR life and business you've been dreaming of? At the age of 11 I started my entrepreneurial trek, it's led me through numerous fields of interest, many different careers and loads of experience along the way.  I'm here to help you maneuver your way with only a quarter of the heavy lifting (I've done most of it for you!).

I am an entrepreneur who inspires others to live their dreams.

If you're an ambitious, go getter type that's burnt out on her 9-5 and your side hustler is screaming to become your full time gig -

Tango del Rey: Day 7 : 30 Days of Living Life on {Wild}Fire

Tango del Rey

But first the truth....

I think it's important for me to let you guys know that I am NOT being paid by WildFire Fitness to do this.  I am completely 100% doing this 30 day challenge on my own accord.  I have a passion for sweating daily (thank you Lululemon) and a passion for supporting the community that I love near and far.  So whatever I post comes from a place of pure love, excitement and genuine authenticity - no one is paying me for my words.... Well at least not in this case.. :-)

I felt it necessary to let you know because as much as I want to paint a beautiful picture of WildFire (and I will do my best) I also have to remain honest.  My intention is only that this app, this company continue to grow and do all they can to get people moving and sweating on a daily basis.

Day 7:

I had my WHOLE day planned, brunch at Swell Cafe in the morning with mum, a little sight seeing in downtown PB and then finish the day with Tango lessons at Tango del Rey.  In case you haven't followed me long I should insert that I am a world class Tango dancer (in my mind) and I can Milango with the best of them - no but seriously I studied Tango for about a year in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego.  I stopped not out of boredom or injury but honestly because I felt so intimated by it.  Tango is definitely the sexiest, most provocative, intense dances of the Latin ballroom arena and I just never felt I could pull it off.  UP TILL NOW!  I think with all this BUTI Yoga, my femininity has returned and I am ready to flaunt my sassiness and bring sexy back!

Finally feeling ready to get back into Tango I was excited to see Tango del Rey as an option on my handy dandy WildFire app.  I reserved my spot, received my confirmation and off I went. Pulling up to this gaudy yet beautiful dance hall, I was surprised and excited to see so many cars and people at the venue - I have to admit I still have this fear that I'm going to be the only one who shows up for something, even after all these classes and events. The place was bumping and music poured out like honey, you instantly felt pulled in and sticky by the excitement and the sweet sweat aroma in the air.  It was literally like walking out of San Diego and into Buenos Aires (or so I would assume).  The only thing missing was Cuban cigar smoke and an authentic Argentine band.  Every part of me wanted to just grab a partner and jump in. I already had my 4 inch dancing shoes on, I was ready.

I did notice the food buffet, I thought it was odd that there was a full bar and it even crossed my mind as to why there were kids mingled in the sea of adults at this dance class. I shrugged it off as this being just a very welcoming place.  It wasn't until a woman stopped me and asked if she could help me and I replied, "Oh, I'm here for the class, where do I sign in?" She replied, 'Oh dear, the class has been canceled due to a special event today - I'm sorry but this is a private party you'll have to leave."

I could feel my heart breaking and little bits of my dancing queen attitude fading as I was shown the door - I told her I signed in with WildFire and she apologized for my not knowing about the change in schedule and assured me I would not be charged.  I made my way back to the car and as I sat down I realized just how disappointed I was, it had taken me years to get the guts up to attend a dance class again BUT once again, I showed up and I had to let go of the outcome.

I have now been doing this challenge for 7 days and all though I have more yeas than nays I would like to offer just a few pieces of advice to fellow gypsies out there -

  • never assume that the app is accurate
  • double check that a studio still exist
  • confirm the class times and teachers
  • make sure there are no special circumstances (events) renting out the venue where your dance class is being held!

WildFire is great - hands down I would not have been able to do all that I have so far without it; but you also have to remember it's young, its still developing and there are kinks to work out. With that in mind, I shake off day 7 and move on to the next!
