No you aren't reading that wrong.
No I haven't bumped my head and misspelled the ever so popular acronym FOMO.
I actually meant to type FOMU and YOU know exactly what it means.
FEAR OF MESSING UP
How many of you can relate to running yourself ragged, down to the final hour to get a project completed only because you wanted it to be perfect.
What about stalling (procrastinating) because the timing had to be right. The location had to be perfect. The sun, moon and stars had to align?
What about completely throwing in the towel and NOT doing the work - because what's the point it's not going to be EXACTLY what I want any way.
FEAR OF MESSING UP can be paralyzing and it can also stop you in your tracks from doing what needs to be done. From YOU doing what only you can do.
Many of the top thought leaders out there will preach that DONE is better than NONE and as long as you get something out there at least you're in action.
The last thing you want is for perfection, or rather the fear of it to keep you from putting your message out there and serving in the way you came for. There will always be things you could have done differently. Another color you could have used, another font, but lady that's what UPDATES are for. Version 2.0 and the next series. We don't question when Apple or Samsung come out with a new phone or notify us of new updates - we actually expect it, because things are always changing and improving. Why should you be any different.
Get started. Put your work out there. Don't let FOMU keep you in the shadows, wishing, hoping, praying any longer - that just might lead you to FOMO and who wants that!
