People ask me, "why network marketing?" I reply, why not? Network marketing isn't something I easily fell into. For years I thought it wasn't for me, that it wasn't something I could do, or master. That I didn't know enough people or have the reach needed to truly make a dent in the business. I thought it would take too much time and the reward would not be worth the pain.
I was wrong.
The day I took a true look at Network Marketing and committed to giving it my all - my world literally changed. I became uncomfortable, I was strange. I became unfamiliar to my friends. I was someone to watch out for; and someone to tune into. I was valuable. I was important. All of these things were there before Network Marketing, but Network Marketing brought them to the foreground. It shined a light on these features, traits and abilities that were not highlighted before.
It made me take a closer look at myself as well - it forced me to see my flaws, weakness, beauty and strength. It forced me to acknowledge both in me and to appreciate that both would be weapons of choice in this battle against my ego and my future.
You see, Network Marketing is one of the oldest professions all of us have access to and have participated in (with or without our knowledge) - you are 'network marketing' every time you tell a friend about a new movie that rocked your world. When you share a favorite dish or drink that you just discovered at your new favorite restaurant or coffee bar. When you hear that new Drake song and you immediately tell your Facebook, Instagram and SnapChat followers that they must download it! You've been network marketing every day of your life - you just weren't getting paid for it.
The misconception is that network marketing isn't really work - that it's trying to convince your friends and family to buy into a scheme or a product that they actually have no use for - that is NOT network marketing that is scamming!
If you love a product, service or company and they have genuinely had a positive impact on your life - why wouldn't you want to share that with the world? Would you really not want others lives to be transformed as well?
There are good people and not so great people in this industry but overall the good are succeeding in putting more good out into the world. Network Marketing is about growing yourself as an individual - developing the skills to inspire, motivate, influence others. It's about making a decision that you're on this planet to serve others and you do it by sharing with them how their lives can be better.
Did you know that 1/2 of all marriages could be saved by an extra $500 coming into the family household?
Did you know that the average cable bill is $100+ and yet those same people complain they don't have time to exercise or buying organic, healthy food is too expensive.
Did you know that on average Americans watch 4 hours of TV a DAY! and that could potentially equate to $800k+ in lost income over their lifetime.
The statistics are staggering and the fact is Network Marketing may not be the answer/solution to all of these but it CAN help.
Network Marketing is a profession that requires training just like being a lawyer, doctor or teacher - the exception.... you can learn while getting paid. It's a profession that teaches that vulnerability is a gift, a strength and something to be celebrated. It's not about being perfect but growing into the person you need to be in order to reach the level of success you see for your life.
I've learned the hard way that success, wealth and admiration do not come to those who just merely want it - you've got to work for it. You've got to learn the skills to get you there; and take the steps to achieve it.
I've learned this and more from network marketing - I've fallen and cried, I've wanted to quit - then someone calls you, text you, reminds you of what an impact you've made in their life by sharing what you did and you realize that that's what it's all about! Paying it forward.
So when people ask me, why Network Marketing? I tell them - because this is how I've chosen to show up in the world and serve from my highest self.
What do you do?
