Today was hard. Harder than I expected. I've gone a day without eating before just because I was so busy (don't do this, not recommended); I've cleansed and fasted before ~ however there is something VERY different when you set the intention to go without for a WHOLE day; that changes the chemicals in your brain. That changes your habits and brings up all your ticks!
Today was hard, I thought about Sushi, Ramen, Hamburgers, Pizza, French fries layered and lathered in cheese, carnitas, carne asada and guacamole. Not because this is my usual diet, because it's not, just simply because I couldn't have it. Today it was restricted. I thought about how does this relate to other things in my life? How can I turn this into a positive?
When there is something you can't have, what happens ~ you want it more.
When there is something you can not do, you wish you can.
And when it's something you lose you miss it.
Whether it's food, people, things or goals ~ you have to know what's important to you. Sometimes it takes a cleanse to figure that out. If you find that you still want it just as bad when you are reconnected then it was meant to be. Just as easily if you find you can live without it then so be it.
A few weeks ago one of my mentors spoke about "Deep Positivity" Deep positivity comes from a place where you truly know, YOU KNOW that if doesn't work out ~ you'll be OK. If you don't get the job, close the deal, make the sale, get those tickets that you WILL be OK! It's one thing to say it but to truly believe it opens up a door, a passage way to infinite possibilities and freedom. Unattachement is key!
Today is a practice in un-attaching myself to food, to coffee to the things I fill my time and day with that are not necessary. Doing a bit of housecleaning, taking it easy and spending some time meditating. Self-care is the work of the day.
It's just a day. It's just a day.
