In a Perfect World
Summer would last forever, theme music would play throughout our day and ice cream would be a major food group. Love would be painless, french fries a true vegetable and shooting stars something you could call upon. Alas, this is a perfect world but just not how the story goes. Summer does end and the music eventually stops, fries are not our friend and for the lactose intolerant neither is ice cream; but that's OK. Without change, we wouldn't appreciate the formal.
For me this summer has been about CHANGE, letting go, and new horizons. So many things have transpired this year that I didn't foresee - good, bad, indifferent. So many new opportunities that I now welcome and look forward to paving my future brightly. A lot of times life mirrors our environment and living here in Southern California I feel the drought - I feel it in my bones and sometimes my creativity but like my environment it can't last forever. There is a flood of beauty, happiness, vivid colors and water flowing this way. That will breathe new life into every cell.
So maybe in a perfect world we adapt, we're fluid, we embrace and let go. We aren't attached to one way, we're malleable. We all have our willow tree that keeps us grounded, while we flutter about. In my perfect world I'm fearless and courageous and I invite new, better, more into my life.
